Cu prilejul sărbătoririi Zilei Culturii Naționale 2024 la Călimănești, am scris pe pagina mea de Facebook câteva cuvinte amintind de personalitatea și opera OMULUI DE CULTURĂ prof. univ. dr. Mihail Sandu, din Călimănești. Am amintit atunci că numărul titlurilor ieșite de sub tipar sub semnătura domnului profesor, ca autor, se ridică la 83. Un număr abstract care, pentru cei mai mulți dintre noi, ar putea să însemne doar atât: un număr! Mi s-a părut nedrept față de autorul acestui număr impresionant de volume de specialitate cu caracter științific (editate și tipărite!) să ne oprim doar la un număr, chiar dacă acesta este format din două cifre! De aceea l-am rugat pe domnul profesor să mă ajute cu o lista actualizată a lucrărilor dumnealui. Am primit-o și v-o oferim si dumneavoastră, însoțită de două scurte mesaje de mulțumire primite de domnul profesor, de la persoane din mediul academic internațional:
În numărul 9 din 5 martie 2021 al publicației „Făclia” din Republica Moldova, sub titlul „Noutăți editoriale în anul pandemic 2020”, apărea un articol sub semnătura distinsei Iulia Malcoci, doctor în științe fizico-matematice, care titra: „Oamenii marcați cu scânteia divină continuă să creeze lucrări de valoare în pofida pandemiei. Dacă profesorul universitar Mihail Sandu și-a scos de sub tipar în 2019 volumele sale ˂Astronomie și Astrofizică. Teme și probleme pentru olimpiade și concursuri> (în limbile română și engleză, dar și volumul I al seriei ˂Astronomie și Astrofizică. Evenimente olimpice. Probleme>, în 2020 a lansat volumele II-VI ale acestei serii, la Editura Didactică și pedagogică de la București”.
Referindu-se la aceste lucrări, Iulia Malcocci afirma: „Sunt niște cărți de o ținută extraordinară atât după conținut, cât și după formă. Îți procură o mare plăcere doar să le răsfoiești. În volumul ˂Astronomy &Astrophysics> multe teme vin în ajutorul celor care vor să exceleze în acest domeniu, inclusiv: „Elemente de trigonometrie sferică”, „Determinarea maselor stelelor binare vizuale”, „Stele duble”, „Problema celor două corpuri”, „Teorema virialului și mișcările planetelor”, „Legea a treia a lui Kepler într-o nouă formulare”, „Pendulul lui Foucault”, etc”
Cel de-al doilea mesaj de mulțumire, din data de 6 noiembrie 2023, a fost primit din China unde s-a desfășurat Olimpiada Internațională de Astronomie 2023.
